We want to help parents in need of essential baby items within the Shrewsbury/Shropshire area and we do this through generously donated pre-loved items from the community.

Whilst researching we discovered just how many people were in desperate need of this type of donation system, and we want to help them get on their feet and give their child the best start in life.

How we work

We work via a referral system alongside health professionals to get the essential basics needed to those who need it most.

Our team

We are a small team at the moment, mainly me, Leanne Simcoe founder of Little Stars Baby Bank alongside my husband and trustees, with our family and friends

Why did you start this up

After having my son who is now 1 and I already have a daughter who is 3, I no longer needed the younger baby clothes and all the younger baby items like moses baskets or baby bath. I searched for a local baby bank to donate but found there was nowhere local that I could donate to.

During my search, however, I discovered just how many people are desperate for this type of donation system to help them get on their feet and give their child the best start in life, but also how much the mothers needed essential items which was heart-breaking and had me in tears a few times.

I couldn't shake the idea of starting one up myself thinking how much of a difference this would make to families, so, after working out some logistics and a long discussion with my husband, I decided to create a baby bank and Little Stars Baby Bank was born July 2020.
